Painting Description
If you love to snowboard and you love fresh powder and best of all when the snow is falling fast and heavy, then this should bring back some memories. Cutting through the trail through the trees through an open glade with deep snow under board. Big soft flakes fill the air and drift down through the stillness to be found in the shelter of the trees. Its the only place to be, a little less cold, a bit less windy, a quiet muffled soundlessness fills the air and visibility is just improved enough to cut some beautiful fresh turns through the powder. Better still no queues, no people and fresh tracks every go. This is part of the Skiing & Snowboarding Feeling series where Pete has looked hard into his skiing memories to try to capture those unique feelings, exploring off piste in the powder and fresh snow of subdued light where the cold has sucked the colour out of the paintings. “Its all about a feeling”, that special place inside which glows even when it hits -30 outside. Snow is blowing hard in your face and icicles hang off your cheeks. Visibility is down and even more cold snow is down your pants stuffed up your coat and packed into your gloves. Where is it ?Can’t see a bloody thing so could be anywhere just imagine. This painting was the first one to inspire the Skiing Feeling Collection of winter snowy paintings.
