Painting Description

Lake District Painting, High Street. Lake District Painting walking from How Town or Sandwick up to Dale Head, Place Fell or the long way to High Street in the distance. Place Fell is right (out of view) and then further Helvellyn in the distant right with top of High Street straight ahead. This is one of my favourite places to stay and walk with the fells and lakes on the doorstep of Sandwick where we often stay on a beautiful farm with red squirrels and red dear right outside the door and a mountain beck in the front garden. Catching the autumn colours in the grasses and bracken with the colours glowing through in the trees. A path up the side of the hill from St Martin’s church in Martindale and in the bottom right a stone track where we started the walk as we entered the dale. Beautiful sunny say with the early morning sun just glancing over the fells to the left casting a long shadow into the valley and across the fells in the distance. Its a beautiful painting and it makes my heart glow with love for this special place. At this time of year you can hear the Deer bellowing and see the Stags rutting. Oil on block canvas 120cm x 100cm x 4cm. Print is available of this painting on the print site.
