Ski Art Painting from Val d’Isere. La Face de Bellevarde ski art painting is a little sketch from my last visit to Tignes 50 x 70cm acrylic on canvas.  It’s a fun painting from this great run down into Val d’Isere viewed from the Olympique chair with the Gondola in the background and lots of textures and crazy skiers and boarders hurtling down La Face. When I am in Val d’Isere, this is one of my favourites. It has a lovely feel at the top as you glide down the upper sections of the piste and then after a few sweeping turns you always have to stop at the top of The Face which is so wonderful and steep and goes straight down into Val. Its a real beauty and especially with some fresh snow on top. A coffee at the bottom is an added treat in one of my most favourite coffee places, the Sun Cafe / Bar. Great fun painting with the Gondolas high overhead and the snow clouds retreating behind the mountains as sun and blue sky approaches.
