Painting Description

Arriving at the top of the Cime Carron lift at Val Thorens in the Three Valleys at 3200m. A heavy snow fall has just passed and the sun is working its way through the clouds to light up the powder joys which lie ahead. A bit of van Gogh in this one with the swirling light around the sun peering through the clouds. In dark relief on the left are the first skiers descending from the lift station with the cafe lying ahead and the start of the col de l’Audzin piste. Stunning range of blues with a wonderful texture. Oil on canvas 50cm x 20cm x 4.5cm
