Ski Poster Mayrhofen and the Harakiri Piste Zillertal

It was a few years ago I painted the Ski Poster of the Harakiri Piste in Mayrhofen. These super steep pistes always make a great spectacle to paint for my ski poster collection. The ski posters are also available as ski prints and canvases.

I really love to ski Mayrhofen for its wonderful Austrian ambiance and ski area.  Most of all the Harakiri piste, or piste 34, caught my eye for a ski painting to make into a ski poster and at 78% this is one of the steepest pistes there are and the steepest in Austria. I love to ski these steep pistes in fresh powder but when they get icy on my snowboard then have to say I will normally cut up the edge of the piste where the snow is still soft. Boards, steep pistes and ice are not a great combination.

I bought the Zillertaler Superskipass covering the entire Zillertal with 530km of pistes in the Ziller Valley and the Hintertux Glacier to explore. There are a couple more paintings to come from this area for a ski poster of the Hintertux glacier and the very top of the Harakiri piste where I love to watch those new to this very steep piste teetering on the edge ready to go or not.
