Harakiri in Mayrhofen with a 78% gradient is one of the steepest slopes in the Austrian Alps and one of the most famous. Its a fabulous part of the world and made all the better for this challenging piste. As usual Austria treated the canvas to stunning mountain backdrops outlined by beautiful pine and fir trees. Lots of texture in the snow on this painting. It really reminds me of those fun days watching groups of skiers tackling these steep slopes, some effortlessly and some well best not mentioned. What a laugh. Acrylic on canvas with texture 60cm x 60cm x 1.7cm.
