One of my favourite places to ski in the USA is Aspen and I love the Alpine character of the scenery to remind me of my many ski trips to the Alps in France. I love the open feel to the mountains and the large open ski areas of Aspen especially through the woods but I do love the views of the Alps and when you combine this with the amazing skiing in Colorado then its is just Heavenly.

Jackson Hole Snowboard Posters and Snowboard Prints

Pete has added Jackson Hole in Wyoming to his list of ski art for his artists collection of snowboard posters and snowboarder prints. They are a little on the more abstract side but great fun capturing the fun of this most famous of world renowned snowboard resorts.

Its a long time since I was in Jackson Hole and then only a brief visit but it has stayed in my mind ever since especially the Ariel Tram to Corbettes Cabin and Corbettes Couloir which I thought was just amazing and the stunts mind blowing.

The paintings are on the more abstract side where I have tried to capture my memories from that very special visit and capture the special feeling which I got on that trip to the USA.

The woods in the USA and the open mountains are a real treat for me as a snowboarder and the wonderful welcoming restaurants make for such a great visit.

Many paintings are placed around the Swiss wall which is one of Pete’s favourites on the Swiss side above Chatel Champossin & Champery. Many are from above Morzine on the French side where Pete enjoys the food as much as the skiing and the stunning wooded pistes especially the Chocolate Box which is a favourite.

On the French side there are paintings from near to Avoriaz, Morzine, Les gets, Torgon, La Chapelle d’Abondance, Saint Jean d’Aulps, Montriond, Abondance.

St Moritz Ski Painting

One of Pete Caswell’s beautiful ski paintings from St Moritz is displayed in his UK studio in North Devon. Pete visited St Moritz several years ago and painted a collection of St Moritz Ski paintings which were exhibited at his studio in the UK. Many have now sold and Pete is starting a new collection of ski paintings from St Moritz all 100cm x 100cm on block canvas. When completed later this year a full exhibition of these stunning Ski Art Paintings will be available to view at his studio by appointment only.

Missing Skiing – Try Ski Painting

Pete Caswell is know for creating the feeling of skiing on canvas with paint and this year his talent is becoming ever more in popular. As the ski lifts have stopped turning so Pete’s brushes have speeded up to keep the many piste hungry skiers happy while they eagerly await a return to the slopes. Many like to follow him on Facebook and Instagram.

Many of his clients so often comment about the first time they look at his paintings they feel like they are skiing again in the snowy mountains. He’s been called the Lowry of the slopes and other times a bit of Van Gough. There is a lot of fun and joy captured in the paintings along with the exhilaration of skiing in the mountains. Lots of texture, plenty of bright colours and some crazy ideas and styles which all come together to lift you out of normality of life to put you on your skis again atop a great big Mountain of snow.

Pete has spent most of his life travelling to the best ski resorts he can find and translating that incredible skiing ski feeling onto canvas. Most winters but not this one Pete can be found mostly on the slopes of Europe cruising round with his canvas at hand and boards and skis to feet. What a life!
