After a long wait I have finally started to paint some Megeve skiing and snowboarding paintings. Here is the first one from the top of Rochebrune 1754m.
A colourful painting from the top of restaurant at the top of the Caboche Gondala on the Rochebrune summit. Sat in the luxury of the restaurant with a coffee, gazing & people watching at the world going by as skiers set off down the Girolle piste. Lovely depth with the distinctive Aguilee Croche in the background.
I have missed Tignes this year with a busy schedule of resorts to visit, getting very close with the 3 Valleys and Les Arcs but sadly was whisked off to Davos and St Moritz before I could set foot on the hallowed ground of Grande Motte. Here are a few of this seasons new paintings from Tignes and Val D’Isere. Do look out later in the season for my special focus on the Grande Motte Galcier and its cable car.
Lots of new skiing and snowboarding paintings for the new season. Having been to the 3 Valleys staying at Meribel and visiting Courchevel and Val Thorens for a super early season ski in early December I have some great paintings of this area.
A sunny week later and I took in the sights of Les Arcs where I last went at the age of 16 in the 80’s and discovered my first sighting of monsieur flouro and his mono ski. Quite a ski for me in my ex army ski outfit matched with C&A ski wear.
After Christmas we took a trip to Davos in Switzerland to see the preparations to the World Economic forum and then onto St Moritz to see where the winter sports was born. A great trip on the Swiss railways mostly effortless but very expensive. These paintings are a special winter project and will start appearing in the next few months.
Take a look at the new seasons skiing paintings which I am publishing to Facebook during the run up to the first snow falls of the season. Like the page to keep tabs on the new releases as they happen.

For the lovers of the snow Pete Caswell has opened his first ski lodges in North Devon for experiencing his wonderful pistes of powder and excitement. Year round powder conditions should prove a real draw. Each lodge is full of Pete’s new season collection of skiing and snowboarding paintings of your favourite Alpine resorts.
Every year Pete travels the Alps painting all of his favourite places in the best resorts in the Alps. To cope with his love for the snow, Pete created three luxury lodges where visiting guests can stay. In the Autumn the lodges are themed on epic ski, snowboard and powder days in your favourite resorts. This year you can see skiing and snowboarding paintings from Tignes and Val D’Isere, Verbier and Zermatt and the Three Valleys.
If you still hunger for more art, maybe from the warmer climes of Cannes or the Caribbean, you can always warm up in Pete’s art studio with exciting and colourful exhibitions of sailing, surf and ocean sunsets from those warm and cosy winter getaways.
Pete’s paintings are sent to clients and collectors around the world from Australia to South Africa, India, Thailand Europe and the Middle East and regular customers in London, Monaco and Geneva. In January alone, amongst the other sales, Pete sent six paintings to a new private Chalet near Verbier in Switzerland and the next week hosted a guest from the US Embassy who took home another 5 paintings.
“My biggest worry when we get a busy month is that we will sell out. An affluent client can easily buy nearly everything we have on the walls. It’s a bit embarrassing to explain to the next visitor to the gallery how the walls are empty because the last client bought all of those on display.”
With regular sales to fund managers and private bankers with their own private chalets in the Alps you can’t help thinking that those in the financial know are snaffling up a bargain before the inevitable price rise of this highly collectable ski art.
